~ ~ Super Bowl Sunday Salon ~ ~

Gooooooo Giants!! I’m practicing saying that until the words stop getting stuck in my throat!! I’m very happy the Giants are in the Super Bowl mostly because they’re a New York team but I’m a New York JETS fan, through and through, as painful as that is! Lolol I have always liked Eli Manning and was excited when he came to NY. Even though I spent my college years in MA, I never became a Patriots fan. In fact, today I’d like nothing more than to see them squashed (all apologizes to my MA/Patriots friends!).

I spent a lot of time writing this week, all different kinds of things including, journal entries, essays, several short story ideas and some posts for my other blog. I’ve been thinking about my other blog, figuring out what I want to do with it. I think I’m going to treat it as a general blog about my life with an emphasis on disability. I don’t want the pressure of every post having to be about having a disability and related information. Besides, it’s too limiting and also boring after a while. I have seen and read several inspiring stories about people with various disabilities and health issues. I want to post about those stories for myself as much as for anyone who wants to read them. I’ve always said my life is about more than being disabled, that’s just a part of it. Since it’s difficult for me to get out in the world and experience the many places, things even people that sound interesting, I research and read about a big variety of different subjects, some of which I’d like to post . So I’m going to see how this works on that blog!

This week I’ve been reading Gillespie and I by Jane Harris the most of all the books I‘m reading. I’m reviewing it in a few days. I didn’t realize it’s a 500-page book or I probably would have started reading it sooner. I wasn’t sure what to expect because I read a couple of reviews last month, one favorable, one not so much. Then last week I read a review by Audra at Unabridged Chick raving about Gillespie and I. Audra’s review made me very excited to read the book so I started it the next day. So far, I’m loving it! The writing style is great. I love the narrator, Harriet and it’s an intriguing story line. Hopefully the book stays this way until the end!

If you’re watching the Super Bowl, having or attending a Super Bowl party or even if you’re ignoring the Super Bowl completely, enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Happy Reading!

  1. We're going to a Super Bowl party but I'm going to be honest here and say that I won't be watching much football. I love college ball but don't care about the NFL.

  2. Amy....my dear blogging friend. We hope out PATS squash the GIANTS, even though my husband's son and grandson are Giants fans...LOL

    Have a great week.

  3. Aren't you nice to grit your teeth and cheer for the Giants! We're cheering for them - my daughter's a huge fan so we've all kind of gotten in the habit and know all of the players now.

  7. It ended up being a pretty good game and I was happy to see the Patriots lose -- I just don't care for them for some reason.
