Teaser Tuesdays 11.03.09

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their
TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"Jen studies her drink for a long time, and when she looks back up at me, her eyes are filled with tears. For an instant I flash to Alice's tears, dripping down her face and onto my belly, but I banish the memory before it can mke me too queasy. One train wreck at a time, I always say.
"I think that may be the ugliest thing you've ever said to me."
"You wanted me to talk about it. I'm talking." "

from This is Where I Leave You by Jonathan Tropper (p. 207)

If you'd like to join in (please do!)don't forget to link your post to MizB's at
Should Be Reading. If you don't have a blog, share your "teasers" in a comment.

  1. Ooh, how are you liking that book? I adored The Book of Joe and have this one in my living room but haven't read it yet. Love to hear what you think.

  11. Geez - doesn't he know that when a woman says she wants to talk about something that she doesn't always really mean it?!

  13. Sarah: This is the first book I have read by Jonathan Tropper and it's fantastic! It's sad, funny (laugh out loud funny sometimes!), poignant and so much more. I am anxious to read some of the author's other books now.

Lorin: It definitely is. Thanks for coming by.

Gautami tripathy: Carl Sandburg's poems are quite good! Thank you for stopping by!

Jo-Jo: It's worth reading to find out! But if I posted what was said, it would give away a big part of the story!

MarceJ: That sentence expresses so much, right?! Thank you for coming by!

LaughingStars: It's a philosophy that certainly keeps life more manageable. If you can stick to it, more power to you!

Melody: Great, thank you! I added yours to mine too!

Amy: Thank you! It took me a little while to find an interesting few lines that didn't give anything really important away!

Kathy: You and Seashell are so great! Thank you!

Willoughby: I really enjoyed this book! What are you reading now?

Sandy: I saw the write-up in EW. They really liked this book, I think they gave it an "A". I think you'll really like it. But I'm sure you have plenty to read until you get it back!

hmsgofita: The author has written several books but this is the first one that has really been written about. It's terrific! Thank you about my kitties, I love them so. Two is a good number, they have company but you aren't over run!

Diane: I did love it! I hope you enjoy it when you get time to read it. I can't wait to read some of the author's other books.

Jenners: It's a great book about all different kinds of relationships. It's funny, sad, troubling at times, heart-warming and more.

The Bumbles: LOL Unfortunately for him, this one means it and keeps bugging the guy about it!

Natalie W.: Fantastic! I hope you like it when you have the chance to read it! I loved it!
