MONDAY MOVIE MEME
Many films require actors to speak in accents other than their own. Speech and dialect coaches are often hired to assist the actors, but alas! this doesn't always help even the most talented of actors! It can be difficult, even painful to listen to dialog delivered in awful accents by even the most handsome/prettiest of faces! New England accents, particularly Boston, are exceptionally difficult. helps that interesting stories are coming out of New England these days. So several of this years Oscar-nominated movies were filmed in the Boston area. The Bumbles have provided several examples of films with bad MA accents. But poor accents aren't limited to MA. Share on your blog movies that feature regional accents so bad, they might as well have not bothered at all. Link your post back to The Bumbles Blog. Poor Kevin Costner. He shouldn't try any movies that require anything other than his own accent. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteA lot of these I agree with, and think that Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt and Kevin Costner are particularly bad at accents. I love these posts and always love to see what the Bumbles are going to come up with next, though I rarely have anything to contribute!
ReplyDeleteWe just watched "The Town" last night and I'm assuming the accents were good since Ben Affleck is from there!
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't think Keanu Reeves could do an accent to save his life!
Oh hahahaha! Keanu! He will always be Bill - or was it Ted? - from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure to me. I will never be able to take him seriously. Though I did like him in The Matrix and in My Own Private Idaho.
ReplyDeleteI really liked Outside Providence when I saw it, maybe because of my fondness for RI :0
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to watch, or re-watch some of these to see.
ReplyDeleteHi Amy! I haven't had time to watch a movie in a while and I do not even have a TV. I am craving a good movie right now. Definitely not one with Keanu Reeves doing a bad accent though. lol!
ReplyDeleteAnni says hello to the kitties. meow meow:)
How do you even remember all of these movies?!
