My Best Books of 2012 (so far)
I've read many good books already this year. Two of them I only finished recently and haven't posted my reviews yet but they definitely deserve to be mentioned here. I'm going to try to keep this list a decent length!
I've been on a hunt for good historical fiction (and contemporary too) that is more mature than young adult books and I think that this list is going to be it. I'm totally adding all of these to read! I've heard so many good things about The Night Circus: I HAVE TO READ IT!
ReplyDeleteHehe, have a fun BEA! Happy reading!

A Land more Kind than Home is on my wish list. Some of your other favorites I've read too.
ReplyDeleteHope there are a lot more good books to come this year.
I have most of these, but the only ones I read were Bezelia Grove and A Land More Kind Than Home, and I would completely agree with you! These were amazing books.
ReplyDeleteSo many excellent recommendations!! I loved The Talented Mr Ripley -- so twisted!! And of course, Gillespie & I -- also so twisted -- and so good. I haven't read The Night Circus yet -- I need to!
ReplyDeleteThe Night Circus is the only one I read from this list and loved it too!

The Language of Flowers and Carry the One sound great! Great picks.
ReplyDeleteThe only one I've read from your list is The Night Circus. A few of the other ones I've seen here and there, but often enough to make me take notice. Looks like I'll be adding to my list of recommendations! :)
ReplyDeleteI've not read any of your books! I have The Night Circus and will hopefully get to it soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm really curious about some of the others. Especially Carry The One! I'll have to be sure and add them to my wishlist.
I've only read The Night Circus and I agree that it's a great book!
ReplyDeleteHappy to see Gillespie & I on your list too :)
ReplyDeleteTHE NIGHT CIRCUS, yes!! That was my #1 favorite of 2011 and I'm so glad it's one of your favorites this year! I haven't read any of the others, though. I need to read more adult novels again. Thanks for the recommendations!
ReplyDeleteI thought The Night Circus was excellent, and I really need to get to Gillespie and I!
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed The Talented Mr. Ripely in an eerie sort of way, and I really want to read The Night Circus. You're the second or third person who's mentioned Gillepsie and Me so that must be a good book, too.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you on The Night Circus! That was my overall favorite read of last year!! So original and magical! I can't wait to see what she writes next!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed The Language of Flowers, which surprised me, because I don't tend to like contemporary set novels very well. I want to try Gillespie and I sometime. I tried The Night Circus, and thought it a middling story. I think the author has potential, but this novel didn't do it for me.
ReplyDeleteOoh two of these are on my read very soon list! (Carry the One and A Land More Kind Than Home). And I agree about The Language of Flowers!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about these, but Carry the One looks interesting. I haven't dared to pick up The Night Circus because so many people have built it up I'm kind of afraid of being let down. I'm glad you joined ABEA! Tattooed Books
ReplyDeleteI LOVED A Land More Kind Than Home and The Improper Life of Bezelia Grove!
ReplyDeleteI started the audio of The Night Circus but I couldn't get into it.
I just brought home Carry The One in audio and print. I have a bookmark in The Language of Flowers and need to get back to it.
ReplyDeleteSo many good ones all in one post. Several I've read and more that are on my list.
ReplyDeleteI bought The Talented Mr. Ripley a few weeks ago. The movie is so good, if a little long.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Night Circus as well and have successfully talked my book club into reading The Language of Flowers. Can't wait! I've always been curious about Mr. Rippley, especially after seeing the movie. I bet I can find a used copy of that one easily! Great selection!
ReplyDeleteOnce again the Wiley Cash books shows up. I think I need to read it!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jenners - not that I haven't already added most of these books to my wish list after reading your reviews!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I've read and ejoyed most of them, but I think I need to add Carry the One to my list - that book is cropping up everywhere and I need to know why so many people love it.
ReplyDeleteyou have great taste! i've read a bunch of these and enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteI have the Night Circus I just need to find the time to read all those pages , LOL!
