Teaser Tuesday 11.16.10

Teaser Tuesdays is an interesting and fun book-related meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. Be prepared to add several new books to your TBR list! I do every week!

My Teaser:

" The more devoted you are to them, the more sorrow their departure will inflict. Opening my heart to Cleo would've been the equivalent of placing an already bruised organ on an airport tarmac and inviting planes to land on it. "

from Cleo: The Cat Who Mended A Family by Helen Brown (p.42)

Anyone can play along! If you'd like to participate, Just do the following:
*Grab your current read
*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. (I used 3 this week!)
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their
TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

*And, finally, don't forget to link your post to MizB's at Should Be Reading. If you don't have a blog, simply share your "teasers" in a comment.

  1. Awww. Very true.

    My teaser is here: http://teabagsinfusion.blogspot.com/2010/11/teaser-tuesday-1116.html

  2. So true and very descriptive! My TT: http://www.rundpinne.com/2010/11/teaser-tuesdays-heideggers-glasses.html

  3. Every pet lover knows this to be true!!

  4. This is funny because I was searching for a book about an author (whose name I can't remember)and his cat. He worked on films and lived at least part of the time in New York. He wrote more than one book about his cat, and the were all good, but it has been probably 20 years since I read them.

Anyway, I never found his name but Helen Brown and Cleo caught my eye.

  5. Awww, what a great analogy. And so true! I have this on my wish list, so hopefully I'll get to read it soon. Good teaser!

  6. Oh dear, this is so true. And yet it's so very worth it to be devoted to them!

  7. A good pet story it looks like.

A nice teaser to share :)

Stop by and check out my Reading Bucket List Challenge for 2011. It is in the works but I welcome suggestions.

    Mad Scientist

  8. LKT: It is but it's worth it! And thank you for stopping by my blog!

JENNIFER: I agree! But it's worth it to love them!

NISE': Exactly, but loving our pets is worth the pain (I think!)

JENCLAIR: I'm only in the beginning section of this book but it's wonderful! There's a book about a woman from the NYC area and her cat Homer called "Homer's Odysse" which is very good too!

  9. MISSY B: Thank you! I'm glad you'll be reading this book! Helen Brown's writing is wonderful!

AVISANNSCHILD: Exactly! I think that's what Helen Brown and her family find out about Cleo!

MADSCIENTIST: Thank you for stopping by my blog! This is a greta pet story but it's so much more than that too. I'll be stopping by!
