I'm trying to get back into reading, blogging and life in general. Losing two cats I loved has taken its toll and I'm finding it a little tough to bounce back quickly. But I'm finally feeling better overall. I watch the other cats and, although they notice Gustave and Betsy are no longer here, after a couple of days being a little more cuddly, looking for a little extra attention and sleeping a little closer to me and/or other cats they like, life resumes as usual for them. It's back to sleeping, eating, playing and exploring. Bob was buddies with Gustave and so was JoJo. Now JoJo and Addie are becoming fast friends and Bob and Lola are playing a lot. I am really happy to see this since Betsy, who died a few months ago was Lola's mother. Lola was a little lost without Betsy but she's bouncing back. Bob is quite large, as some of you have seen in pictures I posted, and Lola is a small, thin cat. It's very funny watching her play with Bob because she runs at him and jumps on him when he doesn't expect it! And she's fast with her paws, poor Bob doesn't stand a chance. But Lola licks him after she beats him up a bit!
I've started writing essays and stories about all of the cats who have passed through here, whether they stayed and made a home with me or moved on to live with someone else or, sadly, passed on. I don't want to forget any of them. And they are all so unique in appearance and personality.
I haven't been as focused on reading, although the last few days I have been able to concentrate more. I'm reading Picking Bones from Ash by Marie Mutsuki Mockett for Jen of Devourer of Books book club and The Beauty of Humanity Movement by Camilla Gibb as well as and ARC of Jodi Picoult's Sing You Home. I have a terrible habit of reading too many books at one time!
Enjoy your Sunday! Happy Reading!
