I have some very sad news...beautiful, adorable Gustave (originally Ophelia) died yesterday. His passing, to a better and pain free place I'm sure, is shocking and devestating. He'll be remembered always for his vivacious, larger-than-lfe personality, for how sweet and loving he was and for his beauty, partially due to his Maine Coon ancestory. This is the very difficult part of rescuing cats off the street and giving them a warm, loving home. Thank you to everyone who wished Gus the best while he was ill. We'll miss you Gus.

I'm so sorry to hear about Gus, but I'm happy to know that his final days were spent where he was loved.
ReplyDeleteOh Amy! I am so sorry to hear of Gus' passing! I lost two cats a couple of years back, and my heart is still broken for them. I know how hard this can be and will be thinking and praying for you. Take it easy, my friend, and be good to yourself. Gus would want that.
ReplyDeleteOh Amy, I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. I'm way behind on my blog reading, so I didn't even realize he was sick. My heart goes out to you -- I know how hard it is to lose a cat. Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear this sad news....I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet. Take care, Amy.
ReplyDeleteLosing a pet, even where there are so many surrounding us, is just awful. You at least provided a warm safe happy place for him while he was with you, and is in kitty heaven with my Hope and Buzz.
ReplyDeleteThere's something special about a cat's spirit. It seems to stay with you, long after their little bodies give out. That's been my experience, anyway. Gus will always have a special place in your heart, and as nonchalant as cats are, they know who loves 'em.
ReplyDeleteAmy, I am so sorry to learn about Gus; how very sad. I am happy his 9th life was spent with a loving lady like you. HUGS
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your loss... *hugs*
