1) I am reading from Brooklyn, NY this sunny, chilly morning!
2) I am addicted to coffee; I love working crossword puzzles even though they sometimes make me feel dumb!; and, since somebody exclaimed over this a couple of days ago ~ I'm very short, as in I wish I was 5 ft. tall!
3) My TBR pile for the Readathon contains 8 books, not because I expect to read 8 but because I'm never quite sure what I'll feel like reading
4) My goals for the Readathon changed this morning because I am sick. I started getting the symptoms of a cold Thursday afternoon and by this morning I've got a terrible headache, sore throat, bad cough etc. I was sick a couple of weeks ago & I guess I didn't completely shake it. So today I just want to get some reading done. I signed up to be a cheerleader for part of the marathon and I want to make sure I do my share of cheering for bloggers participating in the Readathon.
5) In past Readathons, I've found that once you get on-line to update how you're doing during the Readathon, compete in some of the Readathon challenges and visit some other blogger readers and wish them luck, lots of time can pass eating into your reading time. My advice is to be mindful of that and, if your goal is to get a lot of reading done, limit your internet time. But above all, make sure you have Fun!
Take care of yourself and have fun!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Yes, internet can be addicting--especially if you're on twitter. ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great readathon today Amy!
Give me an R
Give me an E
Give me an A
Give me a D

Hope you feel better Amy. I'm fighting a cold too. I hope you manage to get some reading done. I'll be by to check in you.
ReplyDeleteAck, sorry you're not feeling well! That's no fun. I hope cheering and reading will keep you entertained and not thinking about the cold :-)
ReplyDeleteAlso, excellent advice -- that is so so true!!
Have a wonderful day and readathon, Amy, and feel better soon!
So sorry you are sick!! What a bummer. At least you can take it easy and rest in between books.
ReplyDeleteAmy, Sorry you aren't feeling well.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great time with the read-a-thon - I'm couldn't join in this time:(
Hope you are feeling better! Snuggle with those kitties and read.
ReplyDeleteHappy Readathon from a fellow New Yorker! Enjoy your day filled with books!
ReplyDeleteYou're totally right!!!! I love commenting on blogs and posting, but I try to only do it every 3-4 hours. Then I'm not blowing up anyone's reader and I can spend more time actually reading. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who thought coffee was an important enough part of their life that it belonged in their three introductory facts.
That's so great that you decided to cheer even though you're sick. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better-get some sleep!
ReplyDeleteBermudaonion:
ReplyDeleteThank you,, Kathy! I did both! I had a lot of fun and ended up focusing on being a cheerleader because everytime I tried to read I fell asleep after 15 or 20 minutes! lol This is the first time I was a cheerleader & I loved it!
Trish:
ReplyDeleteThe Readathon was terrific, I just wish I could have spent more time reading and cheerleading!
You started cheering early! I have to remember that for next time so I can visit more blogs and read more pages!
Thank you for visiting!
Darlene:
ReplyDeleteHi! Thank you for visiting! I hope you're feeling better...I'm about the same today. I have a full blown cold so it's just going to run it's course. I am going to make sure it doesn't become bronchitis or pneumonia.
I hope you had a good readathon day and were able to read some!
Erin:
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting! I had a great day with the readathon yesterday and discovered I really enjoy cheering! I like visiting blogs, getting to see many I don't know and reading what books bloggers are reading..
The activity was good for me to because reading kept putting me to sleep... Of course, now I have a bit of a conundrum: do I read or do I cheer next Readathon?! I think I'll probably do both but make a flexible schedule for myself so I can accomplish both!
I hope you had a fun readathon...despite sleeping a little more than you wanted too & blaming the poor kitty! lol
Ti:
ReplyDeleteHi! Oh thank you!
I ended up cheerleading for most of the readathon because I kept felling asleep when I was reading...it was as if I couldn't get enough sleep the last 2 days. But I got some reading done & I really enjoyed the cheerleading. Iwas only bothered that I wasn't up to spending more time on-line for the readathon. But it couldn't be helped!
Diane:
ReplyDeleteThank you! I missed you yesterday..but the bunnies & goats are adorable.
I had a fun readathon day just too short. But I don't want this cold to get worse.
Thanks for visiting :o)
Nise':
ReplyDeleteGreat idea & the kitties are definitely in favor of snuggling...and sitting on the book I'm reading! lol
I love when they come and sit with me or around me while I'm reading.
eMily:
ReplyDeleteThank you...I love readathon days.
It's very cool that you're a new Yorker...I'm wondering if that means you live in the area now ( I think so!)

ReplyDeleteLife wouldn't be so sunny & light without my coffee :o)
Every 3 - 4 hours for commenting is a good policy - it gives you time to comment and time to read!
I hope your party was fun :o)
Vasilly:
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I figured since reading kept putting me to sleep after a few minutes and I was hoping not to sleep the day away, I'd try cheerleading and see how it impacted me...we got along great :o) But I was pretty much worthless after 7 pm!
stacybuckeye:
ReplyDeleteThank you! And you're right. I will follow your advice...I slept well last night and I think & hope I will tonight even with a nap this afternoon.
I hope you and your family are all doing well!
