~ Saturday Snapshot ~
This is Hennessey. She's been with us since she was about 6 months old, about 5 years. She doesn't like living inside with other cats so she spends much of her time outside, dropping by frequently for meals and/or a cat nap. When the temperatures drop and it gets cold, she comes in for several days at a time. She hisses at the other cats frequently, not caring that she may have taken over their sleeping spot or simply because she thinks they're standing or sitting too close to her! She can be distracted by any toy. though, and loves to play with balls or string toys.
Hennessey, a small cat, is the only cat I've known who puts on 5+ pounds every winter, becoming noticeably chunky! When spring time comes around she slims down again! The two photos of her sleeping sort of show her normal size and then chubby. I'm going to try to get better photos of her now while she's a fatty!
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce on At Home with Books. It's easy to participate, just post a photo taken by you, a friend or a family member and link to the Mister Linky at the bottom of Alyce's post.
She's so pretty with the black markings on the white. We had a cat that had a little white on the black. Kind of like a mirror image of Hennessey.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! I guess it's to help her keep warm in the winter. She looks like a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteBoth of my cats put on weight during the winter, but not five pounds. That is big variation when you think about the starting weight of what, ten pound?
ReplyDeleteI love your Saturday snapshots! Your cats are adoreable!
ReplyDeleteShe's so pretty with her white fur and black tail! It even looks like she has a grey cap on her head lol. What a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteMy cat only weighs 6 pounds -- I can't imagine her putting on 5 pounds in a season.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a weight gain! Both of our cats are around 11 pounds and I don't think they'll gain much more though because they are always chasing each other around.
ReplyDeleteShe is pretty, and I thought that was unusual about the seasonal weight gain.
ReplyDeleteOur cats weigh 7 (girl) and the boys (14)and (17). We had a bigger boy at one time that weighed (20)...LOL
She looks like she likes to make here presence known.
ReplyDeleteI've found another cat lover! We had a little cat called Alice who sounds just like Hennessy - not the weight gain though and she was black, not white. Love snapshots - the black tail is so unusual.
ReplyDeleteI, too, usually put on some winter weight, so I can relate. She's adorable.
ReplyDeleteShe's lucky to have a home where she can drop in when she needs to!
