Sunday Salon ~ Addie and Amy on the mend!!

This is going to be another brief Sunday Salon. It's been a quiet week here since I wasn't feeling well. I was also taking care of Addie who our Vet diagnosed with a bad cold and upper respiratory infection. Addie was very affectionate and mushy. She liked having my company while she slept and wow, did she sleep! I had no problem stretching out next to her watching saved episodes of Modern Family and some new shows which often look better in the previews But a couple of them, like Pan Am look good to me. I tend to pick up one of the books I'm reading during a commercial and more often than not, the nest time I look up, 20 minutes or more has gone by! Oh well!

Addie is feeling much better and, aside from being really tired, so am I!   Too often when I get a cold it becomes bronchitis or pneumonia and I wanted to prevent that from happening. I think I did! The concern with cats is eating. They rely on their sense of smell and if they cannot smell their food, they don't eat. Within two days of not eating cats start to lose weight. Addie's nose was still clogged after 4 days but she was so hungry by then she started eating the hard, crunchy cat food which hasn't always been her favorite but, for some reason, it's working for her now. She won't eat any canned food yet, which she used to devour, but so long as she's eating I'm relieved and happy!

I am almost finished In the Woods by Tana French which is fantastic. I am also completely intrigued by Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. Why did it take me so long to read this author?! Especially when he's a cat lover?! I've also read about half of fathermucker by Greg Olear which I'll be reviewing for TLC Books. I've been working on some reviews, too!

Enjoy your Sunday! I'm going to read a bit more and then watch the JETS game, fingers crossed!

Happy Reading!

  3. One of our cats once got a really bad upper respiratory infection and was dropping a lot of weight really quickly. The vet gave us this tube of goo that is basically like kitty crack, and it totally stimulated his appetite right away. Perhaps your vet could do the same if this happens again? I am glad to hear that both of you are on the mend. I hope you both continue to recover nicely and have a great week ahead!

  4. Isn't IN THE WOODS fabulous? Such an awesome book. I haven't caught up on the rest of the trilogy, but I mean to do so one of these days.

Glad you are both feeling better!

  5. Hi Amy....glad you and the cats are doing better.

I like Murakami as well (have read about 4 of his books but not Norweigan Wood). enjoy

We are watching Jets/Pats too, but I hate too say this to you my friend --rooting for the Pats.

  7. Glad to hear you are both on the mend!! I want to try Murakami as well. I'm always hearing intriguing things about him. And I'm glad you're liking In the Woods!! I just LOVED that book … and her other two are just as good (albeit with not as messy of an ending.)

  10. Glad you are both feeling better! I can't say I'm sorry about the Jets, though, because our house is full of Pats fans. ;)
