Teaser Tuesdays!

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB, Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

*Grab your current read*Open to a random page
*Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
*BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
*Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their
TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

"I wanted to stop hating people and start understanding. And the only way I knew how to feel like a good and kind person was through baking."

p. 29 Confections of a Closet Master Baker by Gesine Bullock-Prado

*If you'd like to join in (please do!)don't forget to link your post to MizB's at Should Be Reading. If you don't have a blog, share your "teasers" in a comment.

  1. I can relate! Not necessarily to baking but to cooking! Great teaser!

  2. I feel good and kind when I bake, too! :) LOL
    Good teaser!

  3. I've been thinking of adding this book to my to-be-read -list. Great teaser!

If you want to take a look at mine, it's here: http://abookblogofonesown.blogspot.com/2009/10/chapter-23-teaser-tuesday-6102009.html

  4. Cooking is usually just a chore for me, but every now and then when I am in the mood...

  5. I love cooking and baking...it makes me happy. Great teaser!

  6. I want to read that book so badly. I love the teaser. Baking does help.:)

  7. Sounds interesting, I've never seen this book before!

  8. That's a great teaser...I guess we all have our own way of dealing with things.

  9. Mmm...doesn't sound like a very healthy way to relate - but I do know the therapeutic powers of baking. I guess it cures all ills. Great teaser!

You can check out mine here.

  10. What a wonderful teaser!Food and cooking/baking can be healing to many people. I wish I was a bettter baker! I love foodie books like this and have a review copy of this book and can't wait to read it.

  11. Sandy: So you're a good cook, uh?!

Missy: I used to bake a lot when I was stressed. My roommates in law schoolo loved it because they had homemade study treats all the time!

Tina: It's a great book and there's a good recipe at the end of every chapter! Yumm!

Al: It seems people either love to cook or hate it. I like it but my husband tends to do the cooking, I do the baking!

Lisa: I think you'd like this book!

Tea: I really like the book. The author used to work in Hollywood for her sister, the actress, Sandra Bullock!

Vicki: It's a great book, a memoir, and it's not that long. The author finally gives up her job in film to do what she loves: bake.

Jo-Jo: I think a stress-reliever is very important. I guess for many of us it's reading!

celi: Well, the author doesn't like people much but it makes her happy when they get joy from eating the items she bakes so when she says it that way it sounds like a good way to relate to people, to me anyway!

Bonnie: I agree, I think food is very healing for many people. I hope you like the book!

  12. Wonderful teaser -- another one to add to my to-read list!

  13. That's a great teaser, Amy. Sounds like the character is turning over a new leaf--for the better. :-)

  14. Baking can be such a great stress reliever with the best side effect - you get to eat what you baked!!! I want to read this one. Great teaser!
