I forgot to post and say hi! before I started reading this morning! My hour of the Read-a-Thon started at 8 a.m. I'm reading Still Life by Louise Penny! I'll be back here in about 3 hours to let you know how I'm doing!
I used to work as a prosecutor and then an attorney for social services. I had to 'retire' on disability because of health problems. I spend my days reading, blogging about books, reviewing books, writing and caring for the cats my husband and I rescue from the streets. I would like to get involved with some program(s) advocating for the disabled. And find some employment that involves writing, books and/or advocating for disabled people! I have a rare bone and endocrine disease, McCune-Albright's Syndrome, asthma and some other health concerns. The cat in my profile pic is Bob aka Big Beautiful & Sexy Bob as his vet calls him!
Good luck with the read-a-thon, Amy! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteTraditional read-a-thon blessing:
ReplyDeleteMay the bookshelf be there to greet you.
May all the books appeal.
May the fridge be full of tasty snacks;
the words fall soft upon your eyes and until the read-a-thon ends,
may you always hold a book in the palm of your hand.
Good luck today!
Good luck today, hope you get to read all that you planned.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day of reading.
ReplyDeleteMy name is Louise, and I am from Copenhagen, Denmark. This is my first visit to your blog, and I am already looking forward to come back when the whole Read-a-Thon busyness has come down ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe Read-a-Thon began for me at 2 PM, since 5 AM Pacific Time means 2 PM Copenhagen Time ;) I hope to be able to hang around for many more hours... I am not reading though, but having a lot of fun working my way through a lot of great blogs to cheer. GO! GO! GO!
Enjoy your read-a-thon!
ReplyDeleteThank you to all of you! I realized this morning that the cats can be very demanding in the morning! Betsy, the littlest one who has become my shadow in the last couple of weeks, seems to know I am "busy" this morning. She has sat on my book repeatedly, stuck her head in my bowl of cereal, stolen my spoon and started swiping my pen when I was jotting some notes!! Cats always seem to know when something different is going on and they love to get in the way!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to see you all here cheering me on! My fellow reader, my husband, has read for all of about 30 minutes this morning! LOL
I'll be back later!
